The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.
Applications at the moment are open and may close on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to fulfill the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home using a combined gross home earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic income will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan nsfas application Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and nsfas login permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college here in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
